What is glutathione?
Your body makes glutathione with three amino acids: glycine, cysteine, and glutamate.1 It’s considered the body’s master antioxidant because it protects cellular activity from within the cells, but it also regenerates other antioxidants and acts as a cofactor for many enzymes.1-3 Glutathione is also involved in the metabolism of certain compounds that can increase free radical activity.4
Glutathione in the body
In the body, glutathione exists in two forms: reduced and oxidized states.5 When it’s in its reduced form, glutathione is actively scavenging for free radicals. When it’s oxidized, glutathione is inactive and cannot fulfill its role as an antioxidant. Our glutathione formula delivers 500 mg of the active form of glutathione (reduced glutathione) in every serving.
