In a randomized, placebo-controlled study, healthy adults took 500 mg of a garlic extract standardized to provide 2.5 mg of S-allyl cysteine. Blood lipids like cholesterol and triglycerides were measured, as well as blood pressure and fasting blood sugar levels. The group taking SAC-enriched garlic extract experienced support for maintaining normal triglyceride levels, LDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol, as well as support for maintaining normal blood pressure and fasting glucose levels after 12 weeks.¹
